Troubleshootin' With Ernie

A good RVer isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up and take matters into
their own hands when things go awry in the RV. In this series, Ernie Herring
reveals which tools every RVer should have in their personal toolbox
and how to use those tools like a seasoned pro.

The wiper motor requires a continuous hot wire for the park mode. It sounds like you are only getting switch power. That will cause motor to stop wherever you turn off switch.

Ther is a mechanism built onto the gearbox/wiper motor that senses when the wipers are approaching its park position and shuts power down at the rite time (park position). This mechanism could be defective, and wiper motor assembly may need service or replacing.

If you have a Workhorse chassis it has a wiper control module that could be the problem. It is usually located under the dash on the steering column area.

I have replaced the fuel pump in my Ford F53 motor home 3 times since NEW in 1997& it has 13400miles on it. I have searched hi & lo for an electriccal schmatic on that chasis. Even Ford MH is no hjelp. If u can offer suggestions to fix, let me know

You need to order a motorhome chassis service manual from Ford for your F53 chassis. What is the problem that you are trying to fix at this time? You said you have replaced pump several times. The fuel pump circuit includes pump, inertia switch, relay and ignition module.

Now what? Empty the grey water holding tank. Make sure the roof vents are not plugged. Re-do the plumbing and install a trap. It s that simple and just makes for a better next day. Gases come from the Black holding tank. Hit the dump station fast. OK
