There is a product available that will take care of the problem. It is called "drain valve lubricant", available at a RV parts store. Other than that you would need to remove slide valve to clean and lubricate gaskets. The "drain valve lubricant" is just poured down a sink drain or toilet when the tank is empty and the valve is closed. I have tried this and was very surprised at how well it worked.
