Have a 40' Class A gas coach. How much more gas mileage could I get if I left the tow vehicle home than I now get towing it (around 7 mpg).

Towing a car shold not be a heavy load to reduce gas mileage. Does someone out there have expeience on what your motorhome experienced with and without toad?

Our milage will vary 1 to 1 and 1/2 mpg difference when towing our Jeep, and not towing. We average right at 8 mpg pulling our Jeep, so the difference is not enough to off set the added convenience of having the toad.

Thanks for your comment! Definitely not enough difference to leave the towed at home. What kind of motorhome are you pulling with? Gas or diesel?

When we had a 36 foot gas coach (2002 Dolphin LX) , the toad dropped the fuel mileage around 1/4 - 1/2 mpg. The low end was on flat terrain and the high end in rolling hills or mountains. The toad doesn't cost much to pull when it just rolls along, but dragging it up hills has a cost.
