Hi Steve.
We have a 2004 National R. V. Tropical. We have a side by side New Dimensions Dometic ice maker and the water line has deteriorated and is leaking inside the casing with the wires. I can not get to the end that attaches directly to the ice maker. Does the ice maker have to come out to get to the other end of the line and can I use regular plastic line from a hardware store to replace it?
Thank You
Charlie Williams

The refigerator will have to be removed to gain access to the water line. The water line is clamped to the ice maker fitting at the top of the refrigerator on the outside. You can use regular plastic ice maker line but the wires it is encased in are to prevent freezing in cold weather. That is a 12v heat strip.
