Chapter 9: RVing with Faith Alaska…Roads, Rain and Rabbits
Alaska! We made it. We’re finally here. Nearly a month on the road, loving (nearly) every moment of it! What an adventure we have had already, and our real mission hasn’t even started yet.

Same as Wayne. We are toying with going this Summer. Road conditions main worry. Caravan may be the answer but those that have been and done best reference. Lookingforward to more on the Todds adventure.

My wife and I have made the trip up and back, five times since 1973. Our last trip was in 2007. We are ready to go again. If someone would pay the expenses we will go again and then explain why you should not put it off.

I have read only one Chapter of the Todds travels and enjoyed it very much. We lived in Alaska for several years and traveled there in our 5th wheel several years ago and we keep talking about going back. It is beautiful and I hope we get to return

We are planning a trip to Alaske in June of 2011 in a 2010 42 foot motorhome. Some have told me to exspect lots of stone chips, possibly a broken window and to carry a spair tire in case of a blowout. Whats your experiance with this.

Really enjoyed reading about your adventures. That is something my late husband and I had talked about doing, but he passed away 5 years before he could retire. Thank you for letting me view this adventure through your eyes. Stay safe.

You mention a lot of hikes during the trip. I can t hike, so I ride a 13 wheel mobility scooter. I would have liked to hear if such scooters could go on some of the paths. Both my wife and I (70) have low back issues and she has a knee issue that limit our standing and walking. Most of our RVing is driving from central florida to St. Louis or to Alabama to visit kids and grandkids or attend graduations. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska are a dream, if and when we are physically up to it and can locate places enroute that are handicap friendly. We re following you every mile....you re doing our dream trip.

Dear Family and Friends,
We are blogging our way to Alaska for the 75th reunion of the Matanuska Valley Colony that our parents participated in. The parade and other events are the weekend of June 11,12,13. We will be leaving mid May and driving the various highways well known to all.
Please follow the story and comment of course! http://jimcathiev.blogspot.com/
See you in the Blogisphere?

We visited Seward in our C model RV in 1987. It was interesting country. I agree you must visit it to appreciate it. We look foward to hearing about your adventures.

We made the trip to Alaska, summer of 2003, in our 19 self contained van. I found the roads very good, I was surprised by how bad you found them. The road from Dawson to Tok was the only bad one I found. I plan to make the trip next year, 2011.
