Steve: I hyave a 2008 Allegro Bus. I came back after being out for a few hours and noticed the rear air conditioner isn't working. The fan was on but no cold air was coming out. I took your air conditioning class a few months ago but can't remember the order of things to check. The breaker is OK and I am running on 50A. shore power. Walt

If the fan is running the a/c is getting power. Make sure the thermostat is in the proper mode(cool mode). If the compressor is not coming on it is probably something in the electrical circuit of the a/c. The compressor starts from a time delay and also has an overload switch on top of the compressor that needs to be checked.

Steve: Thank you for your response. I turned the AC off and let it stand for a few hours. When I turned it back on it seems to work fine. Could it have been frozen or is there some sort of safety cut off?

If the a/c was frozen it would reduce air flow. If it has a freeze switch on your model of a/c it would shut off the compressor until the ice melted. This should take less then 30 minutes when the fan is running. Resetting the thermostat may have taken care of the problem. If it happens again I would have all the relays checked on the controls of the air conditioner. A sticking relay would cause the condition you experienced.
