Day / night shades are installed in different ways. There may be screws run thru the shade to attach it to the bottom of a cabinet. Another common way to install a day/ night shade is with a bracket. The bracket is hard to see but it will need to be pushed to release the shade. It is a small (approx. 1"wide) bracket only slightly visible when looking behind shade. You need to push this bracket to release shade.
