Hi Steve, My 5th wheel trailer had been stored for the last 10 days and my battery was drained. When I inquired with my local service provider, he said that the radio memory
and the interior alarms that work off the battery drain the batteries of all units and that I should disconnect the battery if I was not going to use the trailer for 3 days or more.
If this is true (?) should I install a battery disconnect switch? Thanks, Shade in Bolivar , Ohio

Yes, it is true that we have several items that will be a draw on the batteries. LP detectors, CO detectors some refrigerators from the high humidity switch and electric steps if the switch is left in the on position. A battery disconnect switch will cure that problem. It is also very important to check connections and water level on a monthly schedule. 10 days sounds like more than just those items draining the battery. The amount of battery drain can be determined with an ammeter and each item can be isolated to prevent dead a battery.
