Great article. I am having this problem with my refrigerator. I thought it was because I am running LP off of auxilliary tanks and not the main tank and maybe not getting enough gas pressure to my refrigerator. But I will go check this valve now!

My 2008 Norcold goes off for some unknown reason. Open and close a door and it usually relights.Where is the circute panel? Maybe a loose connection?

It does sound like you are losing voltage to the refrigerator. A volt meter will need to be used to see where your bad connection is located. Inspect connections from lower board to upper control panel also.

The check light indicates that it did not light on gas. A couple of things your wife can try, 1. Cycle refrigerator off then on 2. Plug an appliance (hair dryer etc..) in the 110v recepticle that the refrigerator is connected. The outside vent will need to be removed and the recepticle will be visible. Do we have power to this recepticle? Can we get the make and model of refrigerator? That information will be on a decal inside the refrigerator.

Also check that you have gas on the output side of the regulator next to the propane tank. Regulators are known to gum up or tear resulting in the regulator blocking the flow of propane to the appliances.

Norcold fridge...I learned the hard way..check the white rubber hose that comes out the back, into a drain cup. I found it plugged at first..cut end off. It should only have a small pin hole plug in it. I wound up sucking cold out of the fridge!!!

Cutting the end off will also increase condensation on the fins resulting in frost-up problems also. Just squeeze the end to clean the opening. If the hose has a plastic plug do not remove plug. Clean as needed and re-install plug.

Very good story and helpful However, I have the opposite problem. Gas works, but will not switch to AC power. Do you have anything to help me with that?
Thanks

Check the 120v recepticle where the refrigerator is connected. This will be located in the outside vent and service access area. Remove the vented door and locate the recepticle that the refrigerator is plugged in and check to see if power is there. If 120v power is available then check the fuse in the refrigerator circuit board. Unplug the refrigerator before checking this fuse to avoid being shocked.

If turning a fluorescent light on or off influences your refrigerator operation you might need to replace the light. It is a common problem for a defective fluorescent light to create problems with low voltage operation of appliances. Unfortunately most people replace the board because they think the board controls all functions. That is not true and needs to be properly diagnosed instead of just replacing parts. Make sure you have clean DC voltage at the refrigerator. The spark must be from the ignitor to the burner. What is your Make and Model?

Fluorescent light ballast was my issue, the fridge would switch back and forth from AC to Gas. Replaced ballast and everything has been fine.
