What is the best way to maintain wi-fi connection while on the road? I know most camps have wi-fi of some sort, but if I am boondocking or on the move I would like to have some sort of e-mail, internet connection.

Cell phone access is usually available in most areas for wi-fi. Internet access can be added to tv sat sytems also.

The Verizon MiFi is a nice setup, so long as you have cell service. While driving the MiFi maintains connection, great for checking while at a rest stop, or for the copilot to be able to search for a campground or store. Sat can only be used while stationary. The Sat connections like Hughes can get pretty expensive, but if you need it for business on the road, it may be necessary. Where would you be boondocking where therre is no cell? Granted, there are many places without cell service, if I drive 3 miles from my campsite here in Uellwstone it disappears, but for the most part the coverage is pretty good.
