I have a 1998 Itasca on a F-53 chassic and the check engine light comes on and goes off after 15 minutes or so and continues to do so. I have tried to fine the OBD connector and have not been able to. I even went to an national auto parts store and they were not able to find it too. Where is it????? edited by bconlon on 9/29/2010

The connector should be under the dash on the right side of the steering column.

if it's a 460 v8 then yours is obd1, not obd2. look under the left side dog house for a connector like this bounder

Mine is a 97 F53, wouldn't anything 97 and later be OBD-II? Or did they use up the OBD-I's on the truck chassis? I know we just tried finding it before this popped here, didn't think to look at engine compartment. Looked under right side of dash. nada.

I believe trucks over a certain GVAR were exempt from that mandate until 1999 when they started being equipped with the v10's. here's the place I found that info
