Hopefully we can here from some RVers' that have owned both. One difference is the ease of hitching or unhitching a 5th wheel compared to a travel trailer. You can tow a larger 5th wheel than a travel trailer. Some travel trailer owners want to use something other than a truck to tow so after they arrive at their destination they are not driving a truck.
