I am VERY interested in learning MUCH more about this subject. I would like to start as soon as possible, but I am alone in my RV. I have two (2) questions,
(1) Are there work programs for just me?
(2) How can I talk to a real person about getting started?

Pat - Yes there is something for just a single. Check out the links in the article, or WorkCamper News http://www.workamper.com is a great site. Their hotline posts jobs daily as they come in. It is a subscription service.

Talking to a real person, as in voice? I am willing to speak with you offline. Let me know how to contact you. Yoou can also go to the Forums tab and find the workcamping thread, ask away.

I can't stress the workampng.com subscription enough. Probably the most up to date clearing house there is. However, you also need to start networking among other workcampers, lots of leads here and hear about the real plums before they are out on the branches of the online services.

We had a job lined up just for me this winter that fell thru at the last minute, but shaking my network got me possibilities and names, hardwork of contacting and applying got us both jobs.

Hopw do you network when you haven't been there? Forums such as this, plus other forums that are for RVers. Often there will be a Owrk Camping section, and folks pass along jobs they hear or know of.

What is your background? Did you retire from a skill based prfession? Accounting? Carpenter? etc. If you want to use thses skills, let it be known. Create a fun resume, keep it serious, but let them know you enjoy the out of doors etc.

A lot of useful information that I got the first time looking. I hate going to a site online and having to click on 20 different sites before getting a little bit of information.

Thanks

Glad to help! Good luck and hope you find a great work camping experience!

We had a great hiring fair at Lazy Days Tucson the week after Thanksgiving! Come on out next time. Depending on where you will be for winter, also be aware that some places have booths at the rallies and events around the country, fr instance, at the RV show in Quartzsite in Jan, there will be places looking to find folks for the summer. The best jobs are usually filled in the fall for the following summer.
