If the rv is not going to be used for a month or more, is it best to have it plugged up to 50 amp service on not plugged up?

Leaving plugged-in depends on the charger in the RV. If you have a converter, check the owner's manual of the converter for proper storage procedures. Some converters will overcharge the batteries. If you have an inverter / charger, or a converter with a 3 stage charger, you can leave the RV plugged-in.
