Steve, I have a 1997 Fleetwood on the Ford F53 chassis. It is probably time for trans fluid replacement, I have no record of previous owner doing this, and I have not yet done it. My questions, should I put in the Dex that was in there, or change to a synthetic? If I change to synthetic, how imperative is it that the old remaining fluid and the new synthetic do not mix, or is some mixing OK?

Thanks! (about 67000 miles)

Do not mix synthetic with the standard transmission fluid. At this point I would change the filter and replace with the appropriate transmission fluid.
