Hi Steve,
I have a Generac 550 Generator. Will running it under load I lost the 30 amp side. Resetting the breaker did not help. The 20 amp side works.
Also I noticed that when shut down the statred switch on the dash(2001 National Dolphin, gas) did did work, no response at all.

The seemingly obvious answer is that I lost the breaker, but could the 30 amps be working but something else, down the road, have gone bad, blown, and will not let the 30 amps get to the MH?

Thank you

You have two seperate problems with no 110v output and the remote switch not operating. For the 110v problem you will need knowledge of the proper use of a volt meter and safety precautions to take when testing live circuits. There is a 4x4 junction box usually mounted in the generator compartment. This is the place to check generator output when it is running. If no power is there, it is a generator problem. For the remote problem you will see a 4-wire connector at the generator. Make sure this is a clean and tight connection. If the connection is good the dash switch will need to be tested.

Steve, thanks for your help. The problem turned out to be a burnt wire in the box that the power cord plugged into.
I fixed the remote switch but don't remember exactly what I did. Like they say it's h--- to get old.

Thanks again.
