For those who don't know, the US Space Shuttle program is winding down to an end. There are only 2 more launches scheduled. I work at an RV Resort in the Titusville area and I can tell you 1) It is an incredible sight to see a launch and 2) Doing it from your RV site is the way to go.

The city of Titusville has reported expecting up to 1,000,000 visitors for these launches. If you come in with the expectation of a hotel, you better have made reservations a long time ago. Plus you have to deal with a million people in a city with an infrastructure designed for about 100 thousand.

Admittedly getting an RV site for the launch isn't exactly cake, but there are enough parks in the Titusville area that you can usually do ok.

The Space Shuttle Endeavour (close to the hearts of many Holiday Rambler owners) is scheduled to launch Monday, May 16th at 8:56 AM

The Space Shuttle Atlantis is "currently" scheduled for June 28th, but is expected to slip into early July.

Come on down and see some history. It really is a great sight and the atmosphere is akin to a NASCAR tailgate party. If your schedule permits some flexibility, this can be a really great trip. Just be sure the RV park you make your reservations at will allow you to push the reservation forward if the launch is delayed.

Enjoy
