The ignition has to be on in travel mode, that may sound simplistic, but after many years troubleshooting computers, I have to state the obvious.
The switch or a connection likely at fault. If you can get at the back of the switch, make sure the wires are connected. Essentially a toggle switch to give power to the radio. If you have a multimeter, check for power going to the radio, then from the power source.
Some motorhomes use an external relay, this allows you to turn the radio on from more than one location. This is not that version, so it eliminates needing to check the relay.
