We are 100% new to the concept of RV'ing. It seems that everyone we encounter camped as a child, owned multiple campers/trailers/RVs and we know absolutely nothing. Though my husband has camped, I have never set foot in a campground, nor an RV till a few weeks ago. So, please don't flame me for that. One has to start somewhere. We have 2 kids ages 9 and 11 and we believe that getting an RV is our best shot at "seeing America" next summer. We have unlimited time in the summer, but of course, don't have unlimited funds. So, we are looking at used RVs. We have looked at about 20 and only 1 even seems close to the mark. We plan on "flipping" it after taking it on the road for a year, and I can tell the used market is pretty rough. I am wondering if there is one brand that might have better resale value. In our very limited search and with very little knowledge, I seem to be liking the Winnebago Class A's. In our price range, we are looking at RVs between 1995 and 2000. Honestly, I can't figure out which one is better than the other and how much these things are worth. I have consulted the NADA website but am not sure if that relates to what you should offer a private seller. The Winnebagos seem to have way better storage than other models but I am sure we haven't seen enough to really know. We don't even know if a Class A or Class C is better for us? As I said, we want to take off next summer and visit family in the Midwest, and also visit the Badlands, mount Rushmore and the Blackhills along the way. Another leg of our trip would include Yellowstone and Glacier. If anyone has enough patience with a Newbie to respond to these questions, I will greatly appreciate it.
