I have an Onan 8000 watt generator (diesel). I know the generator puts out 120 volts at 66 amps. The generator isn't listed as 240 volt but is 240 available across line one and line two outputs that feed the electrical panel?
Or is this just two 120 volt lines using the same phase? Thanks for any help on this.

I need the model number and spec to answer this question. In most cases the newer RV generators can only be wired for 110v output.

The Model number is #8HDKAK-1046K, Serial #C080165941. It's 8000 Watt 120Volt Current of 66.7 amps. Line Circuit Breaker is 2-pole, 30 amp.

Thank You,

Denny

That's the Quiet Diesel 8000 model, which is an inverter-type generator. It produces two 120v outputs, but the two output circuits are in-phase with each other and thus cannot provide 240v by jumpering across the two. The previous model, the QD 7500 is the same.
